DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.As Mechanical/Tooling Designer, when received new tooling/fixture requirement, work closely with Automation & Vision team an d Project Development team to develop design concept an d solution.
2.Responsible for DFM （Design For Manufacturing） creation, discuss an d answer any related question from client an d other internal department. After getting approval for DFM, finalize tooling 3D an d create 2D drawings for documentation.
3.Co-work with sourcing team to search for relevant vendors an d provide technical specifications.
4.Execute according the 3D drawing an d monitor tooling/fixture fabrication, liaise with vendors to ensure critical requirements are achieved.
5.Responsible for tooling schedule tracking to ensure on time delivery.
6.Involve in coordinating tooling/fixture setup, adjustment an d optimization of tooling/fixture parameters/performance.
7.Carry out process verification to validate the tool/fixture for mass production. Work closely with Industrial Engineer, Quality Engineer & Product Development Engineer to resolve engineering issues during NPI stage.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Working experience in Automotive/Mechatronics/Consumer Electronics industry Ｏr related field.
2.Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering Ｏr Tooling Design.
3.3-5 years tooling design an d management experience.
4.Excellent at CAD, Pro/E Ｏr other equivalent design software.
5.With Manufacturing experience is preferable.
6.Good Oral an d Written English is a plus.
REQUIREMENT
1.Minimum 3 years related work experience in tooling design an d qualification process on high volume products.
2.Good at tooling 3D an d 2D Modeling, familiar with common an d universal tooling structure.
3.A good understanding to tooling related process （ i.e. material treatment, surface treatment, surface finished an d callouts, surface coatings, heat transfer, fabrication method）, Lead time an d Cost estimation.
4.Good machining knowledge an d experience （machine types, machine limitations, cutters, speeds, feeds, etc）
5.Good knowledge of GD&T, understands tolerance analysis
6.Good understanding of machine parts an d design （bearings, bushings, alignment strategies, pneumatic cylinders, etc.）
7.Experienced at Tooling design, build, debug, trail an d modification.
8.Vendor contacts in the local area is a plus.
9.May need travel to tooling vendor site to monitor tooling fabrication an d push for delivery.
10.Ability to communicate effectively in English （both oral an d written, not Mandatory.
